Rantuana decries shortage of seeds

MP for Ramotswa, Mr Samuel Rantuana complained of shortage of seeds for farmers in his constituency.


Contributing to the State-of-the-nation-address, he also called for dual carriage way that leads from Ramatlabama to Ramokgwebana to ease traffic congestion and accidents in the A1 Highway.


Mr Rantuana also complained that the adress did not explicitly state as to how unemployment would be addressed, adding that it was the usual template that did not offer solutions to a plethora of problems facing the nation.


MP for Mogoditshane, Mr Sedirwa Kgoroba complained that the executive was excessively empowered such that Parliament was dis-empowered and all decisions were taken at executive level, questioning the level of democracy in the country.


Mr Kgoroba also complained of the sudden closure of the BCL Mine, which he said inconvenienced, impoverished and had led many households that depended on the miners. Mr Kgoroba also complained of negligence by health authorities with regards to waiting time of patients to see doctors.


MP for Mahalapye East, Botlogile Tshireletso called for empowerment of the girl-child, so that they could be future leaders who do not depend on men for a living. She said women should stand up for their rights and fight for political power with their male counterparts.

She commended women in her constituency for utilising programmes that empower women under the department of gender affairs. Ms Tshireletso also called for refurbishment of old building such as the Mahalapye hospital, which she said had now become a crime haven.


She further said Mookane, Dikgatho school boarding facilities should be refurbished. MP for Molepolole North, Mr Mahommed Khan called for provision of more senior schools in the Kweneng District and that government should revisit idea to construct a police station in Molepolole. ENDS
