Private sector significant partner in development

The private sector has been applauded for its contribution towards the country’s economy.
Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP), Mr Carter Morupisi said this when officiating at Builders World showroom in Palapye over the weekend.
He said it was only through the drive of a robust, innovative and customer focused private sector that the nation shall succeed in achieving sustainable development.
Mr Morupisi said the commercial aim of the new attractive facility was to enhance customers’ awareness of the modern opportunities and trends in personal home building.
He said the showroom was holistic in its approach, presenting a wide range of interior and exterior design options for all areas of the home, including the kitchen layout, cupboards, tiles and lighting.
Mr Morupisi appreciated the expansion of the shop which positions the company as a major bulk supplier of industrial steel products in Central district. The expansion, he added was in response to the growth of the local construction.
For his part, the managing director of Builders World Palapye, Mr Emraan Ismail said since their establishment in 1988, they employed 1 400 employees countrywide.
He added that 40 of these employees came from Palapye and the surrounding areas.
Mr Ismail said the opening of the showroom would enhance the purchase of any product and service offered at the store.
He said they found it fit to integrate a décor showroom in their operations to create awareness of the modern trends in the building industry, showcase modern fixtures and fittings as well as 21st century lights for interior and exterior use. ENDS
