Khama thanks task team

12 Dec 2016

President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama has commended the Vision 2036 Presidential Task Team for a job well done.

The team came up with a Vision 2036 document, which was launched in September 30.

On Saturday (December 10), the President had lunch with the team to express his profound gratitude to them.

He urged members of the task team to continue assisting where there is need to ensure successful implementation of the document.

President Khama suggested that the task team should be ambassadors of Vision 2036, noting that by 2036, the country should have achieved what Batswana expected from the vision.

Vision 2036 is a transformational agenda that aims at transforming Botswana from an upper middle-income country to a high-income country by 2036 and sets out a compelling vision of what the future will look like, while it follows and builds on Vision 2016.

The purpose of Vision 2036 is to achieve prosperity for all and it also aligns the national agenda with the global agenda for sustainable development and the principles of Africa’s agenda 2063.

On how the vision was developed, the task team chairperson, Mr Neo Moroka said they worked with professionals, who had extensive knowledge of issues that affected Batswana.ENDS
