11 Dec 2016
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development (MYSC) has donated food hampers and toiletry to Ms Lebakile Ramapulana of Tsetsebye.
Speaking at the donation in Tsetsebye on December 8, principal library officer for Bobonong, Ms Betty Mazebedi, said this was their 10th year still donating food and toiletry to the less privileged people.
Ms Mazebedi said the food hampers and toiletry donated to Ms Ramapulana will enable her to celebrate Christmas Eve with others.
Ms Mazebedi explained that Ms Ramapulana should now stop looking down upon herself since she had something to rejoice herself with adding that the donations gave her dignity.
She highlighted that all people were created in the image of God, therefore it was crucial to show compassion and care to those in need.
Ms Mazebedi explained that MSYC were not only responsible to give government services to people, but they should also play a part in community service.
She said their intention as the library staff was to raise funds for partying on Christmas.
She said as time passed by they decided to stop partying and involved all MYSC staff in raising money to buy amenities that they can donate to the socially disadvantaged people.
Ms Mazebedi said they were raising money amounting to P2 per week.
Ms Ramapulana appreciated the food hampers and toiletry given to her and graced god for hearing her prayers. She also appealed to MYSC staff to build her a house. Ms Ramapulana emphasised that she is among orphans who still need to be assisted with social amenities. ENDS
