PSLE results improve

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2016 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results.
A news release from BEC states that a total of 42 517 candidates sat the 2016 PSLE examination showing a decrease from the 2015 of 42 553.
The release states, 21 408 of the students were females and 21 109 males.
It also states that the 2016 PSLE overall performance indicates that the proportion of candidates obtaining grade C or better went up by 0.82 per cent from 69.74 per cent in 2015 to 70.56 per cent in 2016.
The percentage of candidates obtaining grade A in this examination rests at 16.06 per cent against 14.65 per cent of last year representing an increase of 1.41 per cent. There are 33.95 per cent candidates at grade B compared to 17.84 per cent in 2015, representing an increase of 16.11 per cent.
Further, it states that at the lower grades, 7.30 per cent of the candidates obtained grade E compared to 6.81 per cent in 2015, showing an increase of 0.49 per cent. ENDS
