Repay loan-Kgosi Mosadi

11 Dec 2016

Bamalete Kgosi-Kgolo, Kgosi Mosadi has encouraged youth to repay their Youth Development Fund (YDF) loans.
Addressing YDF beneficiaries Loan Repayment Pitso on Tuesday, Kgosi Seboko said youth have a tendency of dragging their feet when it comes to paying the loans.
She encouraged youth to contact Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development if they have challenges that result in payments defaults rather than keeping the problems to themselves.
She said the youth should pay back the loans as per the agreement they have entered into with the ministry and avoid buying cars and other extravaganza activities when they should be repaying.
Kgosi Mosadi further urged the youth to take farming seriously as it can help to improve lives and the country’s economy.
She said amid low rainfalls, mine liquidations, climate change and unimpressive returns from the mining sector, faming is the only alternative.
When motivating the youth, Ministry of Youth Empowerment Sport and Culture Development, South East District coordinator, Ms Tiny Tamasiga-Gontse said the future of the country is in the youth’s hands.
She said developing a positive attitude and adopting good work ethics are critical for the success of the business.
Therefore, she said some businesses are not doing well because youth are not applying themselves to see that they succeed.
One of the parents, Ms Caroline Mokgatle said as parents they should ensure that their children do what they agreed with government when they acquired that loans.
A successful YDF beneficiary, Mr David Barei said hard work, determination and commitment can make the youth’s businesses successful.
He however decried that as bakery owners they are facing challenges due to monopoly of big companies which are winning all big tenders.
Therefore, he pleaded with the ministry to help them when it comes to government tender awarding to ensure that small business gets a share.
The objective of the meeting was to discuss how the youth funded by government are going to repay the loans. ends
