Serowe Spar adopts SOS house

Serowe Spar has kept true to its brand slogan Spar Good For You by renovating and adopting one of the houses at Serowe SOS.
The house that was handed over to the centre by the branch manager Mr De Klerk Pharithi recently accommodates eight children from disadvantaged families.
The house has been repainted and tiled, and a garden that will benefit the whole centre has also been provided.
Mr Pharithi said they were committed to making contribution to the society and they felt that the SOS deserved a habitable house as it is important for one’s wellbeing.
He said they have decided to adopt the house as well as support them with P1 000 worth of groceries each month.
The branch manager added that their intention was to support the children and help them realiase their dreams.
Spar regional manager Mr Gerhard Meyer said Spar has always taken community social responsibility seriously adding that they give P240 000 worth of good annually during Christmas.
He said it pleased them to see smiles on faces of people who have been one way or the other touched by their gesture of assisting.
On behalf of Kgosi Serogola Seretse, Kgosi Gomolemo Motsokono, said Spar’s noble gesture indicated that they were not only concerned by growing their business but in improving people’s lives.
He said the projects the company has been undertaking over the years were a sign that Spar was a credible trader.
Kgosi Motsokono beseeched other business entities to emulate Spar.
The house mother Ms Leronne Nkwati who could not suppress her joy said Spar has made life easier for them especially concerning cleaning, as tiles are manageable.
She said the children were excited by the renovations as it has made their house more homely.
Christmas came early for the children as they were treated to good music by Potsana traditional group, SOS marimba group and Dj. Spar also brought some treats to the delight of the young ones. ENDS
