Excellence requires hard work

Commitment, dedication and self- discipline have been described as crucial elements in academic excellence.
The Food Botswana general ganager, Mr Oaitse Goitsemang said during Newtown Primary School prize giving and charity event themed Collective efforts; A necessity in Boosting Learners Moral and Dignify Personality recently, that it was important for one to work tirelessly to become the best. He urged students to invest their time and energy into education adding that it was worthwhile and could be productive as well.
He added that students should commit themselves to hard work in order to pursue excellence.
Mr Goitsemang urged teachers to help students reboot their morale of learning.
In addition, he stated that students were reliant on teachers to help them mould their personalities.
He also encouraged students to be on their feet in order to ensure students’ excellence and high quality education.
Mr Goitsemang emphasised the importance of respect and mutual support saying they enhanced self-assertiveness and belief.
The general manager noted that team work was crucial saying it gave team members meaningful roles in order to pursue their goals.
“When you genuinely belief you could achieve the goal and when each team member feels they had a meaningful role to play in pursuing that goal they will definitely achieve what they have aimed at,” he said.
He said respect and mutual support directly affect commitment and belief because when one was treated with respect they were challenged in positive ways enhance commitment and belief in their capacity to excel at anything that strengthens their belief and frees them to perform at a higher level.
