No plans for Mosetse ambulance

30 Nov 2016

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has no plans to provide an ambulance for Mosetse Health Post in the Nata/ Gweta constituency.

Assistant Minister of Health and Wellness, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele informed Parliament on Tuesday that the health post was covered by ambulances from Dukwi Clinic and Mokgoro clinic which are within a 15 kilometre radius.

“Since Mokgoro clinic and Dukwi clinic are mother clinic (clinics with maternity) and they operate 24 hours, it was agreed that ambulances be based in these clinics and that they would assist health posts from these bases,” he said.

Mr Makgalemela said the health post used to have an ambulance, but it was taken to Mokgoro clinic when the one there was boarded.

“Mosetse shall be considered along with other similar requests countrywide when more ambulances are procured in the future, funds permitting,” added the assistant minister.

Nata/ Gweta MP, Mr Polsen Majaga had asked when Mosetse Health Post would be provided with an ambulance. ENDS
