A Selebi-Phikwe based traditional contemporary group, Sediba Sa Ngwao is doing well in the music industry and even waving the national flag abroad.
Established in 2007, the group composing eight males and two females aged between 23 and 35, has thus far recorded three albums with the latest offerings, Thupa ya ga Jeke, released in September this year, doing extremely well in the market.
Speaking in an interview recently, the group spokesperson, Tshepho Tsela stated the Sediba Sa Ngwao has mellowed with time to become a force in song and dance.
He said one of the primary reasons they entered the music industry was to try to preserve Setswana culture through music.
Tsela revealed that other than been a hit with locals, thanks to president music competitions in 2011, where they scooped position one, the group is known even outside Botswana borders.
“We have performed at annual South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) tour in Mafikeng, Kuruman and Polokwane as well as Roots video shooting, in South Africa,” revealed Tsela.
Tsela advised other musicians and music groups to work very hard in order to realise their dreams.
He said they should take their time and produce quality music which can easily appeal to both local and international markets. ENDS
