Kenosi to take on world stage

28 Nov 2016

Miss Botswana beauty queen, Thata Kenosi is in the United States of America (USA) to represent the country in the prestigious Miss World pageant billed for December 18.
The 66th Miss World edition will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Centre, National Harbour in Washington DC and will be broadcast live on SABC 3.
SABC is the only television network in Southern Africa that would be airing the prestigious world event.
Kenosi left for USA on Friday and was seen off by multitudes of well-wishers, including family members. Many are hopeful that the Moshupa-born lass would bring the crown home and make the country proud while still in celebratory mood from the 50th independence golden jubilee.
Before leaving for USA, Kenosi visited her home village, where she received her blessings from the community as well as Kgosi Oscar Mosielele, who was also optimistic that the talented and naturally beautiful woman would make the village and the country proud.
Winning the crown would be an icing on the cake after the Botswana 50th independence golden jubilee celebrations.
Meanwhile, after she was crowned Miss Botswana on the night of July 26, at the Gaborone International Convention Centre, Kenosi paid a courtesy call on President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama, who is openly known for his support on Miss Botswana pageants and reigning queens.
While the atmospheric condition in USA is expected to be cold, as a ritual for approaching white Christmas, Botswana’s weather condition is expected to be wet and sunny at the time of the grand finale. ENDS
