Office of the President receives donations

 Companies continues to lend their helping hand towards the Presidential call to assist  the less privileged.

DLM donated 40 computers, IT Worx donated 10 computers, Vintage and Protégés also donated 140 moppets at the cost of P20 000 and other companies that donated were T & T Botho University.

 Recieving the donation  at the office of the president recently,  Government Implementation Coordination Unit Coordinator Mr John Phatshwe said this is an initiative  by the President to try and respond and walk the talk in line with rudiments and theories of leadership of trying to lead the nation by example.

He said it is important to highlight that The President came up with an initiative for the businesses and the community at large to donate to the needy and the less privileged members of the community.

He said what is seen in that  as far back as 2009, the President found it fit establish a charitable trust that would receive or appeal on behalf of Batswana for donations for those that need such material most.

Mr Phatshwe said this gesture of giving this donations received   is love adding that with charity you give love and all Batswana to reach out their helping hand.

On the other hand, he said that Vision 2016 emphasized the issues of ‘Towards Prosperity for all’ which is basically in consonant with the quotes from critical thinkers around the world.

He said Vision 2036 emphasizes achieving prosperity for all and most importantly the pillar that talks to ‘Human and social Development’ which basically talk to the development of the society and the support which goes with the issue of love.

He said the trust or appeal has so far donated over 655 house to the needy.

Deputy Permanent Secretary  in the Office of the President Ms Kesego Okie said the donations will go way in ensuring that less privileged Batswana are empowered enough to be self-reliant and active participants to the country’s economy.

She said their efforts are fully in support of the government’s pledge to create jobs for Batswana and take Batswana out of poverty.

Ms Okie said since the establishment of the Presidential trust in 2009, her office has partnered with a number of friends whose benevolence continue to humble her office.  ENDS
