Chobe youth receive football equipment

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) president, Maclean Letshwiti’s wish to see football being properly developed at grass roots level kicked off with the launch of regional youth leagues over the weekend.
Despite some delay in the collection of the equipment, which was supposed to be presented during the launch, the event was rated successful by Obvious Moyo, who is the Northern Block representative at the BFA National Executive Committee (NEC).
He noted that sport is not just for social purposes but a platform that can give someone a source of income, noting that despite some minor challenges, such as lack of soccer boots for some of the players and the Chobe scorching heat the event went smoothly.
“I would like to thank all who made it here from your busy schedule. We all know players like Mwampule Masule and Mogakolodi “Tsotso” Ngele all started playing football at a tender age, but look where they are now,” noted Moyo.
Speaking on behalf of Chobe Regional Football Association (CHORFA), Senyemba France thanked BFA for the support they have shown the youth and thanked parents for allowing children to try their hand at playing the sport.
He highlighted that youth are the pillar of football and without them there is no continuity in the sport.
“Football is now a big source of employment, especially for the youth, so I urge you to desist from doing anything that can hinder the growth of your careers. BOPA
