Moshupa wishes Miss Botswana success

Miss Botswana, Thata Kenosi says she is more than ready for the Miss World  pageant.

Kenosi visited her village of Moshupa on Monday, where residents paid her a prestigious welcome and well-wishing ceremony for her next level of pageantry as she is eyeing the title of the 66thedition of the Miss World.

Miss World 2016 will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, United States of America next  month.

About 120 contestants from all over the world will compete for the crown.

This is the second time that the United States will host the pageant.

Mireia Lalaguna of Spain will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Kenosi said she was scheduled to leave for Washington DC today.

She hailed hospitality displayed by Moshupa residents, saying it was an incredible and a morale booster for her tour adding that she felt so humbled.

“When they told me I was coming to my home village before the competition, I did not know what to expect,” she said.

“Today, I am so humbled, going around Moshupa people were ululating, just for me,” she added.

For his part, Moshupa kgosi, Oscar Mosielele wished the queen good luck at the upcoming Miss World competition.

“In the history of this village, I am proud to remind you that, we have groomed three beauty queens, Beauty Seloiso, Mpule Kwelagobe, former Miss Universe and the current Miss Botswana,” he said.

“Because your manners are desirable, I do not doubt we will be well represented”.

Mosielele advised community leaders and parents to unite and ensure they produce prestigious individuals who could represent Moshupa well.

He also urged the youth to put more effort on their school work adding that being Miss Botswana needs one to be educated.

He said beauty pageants was not about beauty alone, but needs a knowledgeable person. BOPA
