Giving a keynote address at the handing over of the donation to the three charitable organisations, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Ms Pearl Ramokoka encouraged employees of the now two separate ministries to continue working together as they served one government.
She applauded them for continuing with the good gesture of giving back to the underprivileged members of society. “You jointly took it upon yourselves to help these charitable organisations; this is a way of preserving human dignity, continue the good gesture even at your new ministries,” said Ms Ramokoka.
Furthermore, she also encouraged them to carry with them the spirit of compassion to their new ministries.
In a word of appreciation, administration officer at Rankoromane Rehabilitation Center, Ms Tshegofatso Mosikari said the gift would go a long way in transforming their pupils’ lives.
“We have been running short of bedding in our center, this will go a long way in transforming our pupils’ lives. We are very thankful,” she said.
For her part, senior teacher-language at Ramotswa Centre for the Deaf, Ms Kelebogile Sebolao appreciated what the ministry had done to them. “Belief me you are the first ministry to do community service at our school, the last time you came to our school, you interacted with our students and have shown us that we are part of the outside world.
Bana ba Keletso board chairperson, Mr Hlala Maphenduka said they would use the money wisely for the intended purpose.
Rankoromane rehabilitation center recieved P8 000, Ramotswa Centre for the Deaf and Bana ba Keletso got P2 500 each.
