Financial freedoom beneficial

An official from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development says some women have been subjected to sexual abuse due to financial problems they find themselves in.
Speaking at the Department of Building and Engineering Services (DBES) event, Ms Tuelo Maitseboa said women who sink in financial problems ended up sleeping with men who are well-off with the hope of scoring a love affair as promised by such men.
However, Ms Maitseboa said such men would be looking to gratify their sexual needs after which they would disappear, leaving the woman distraught and full of hate and rage.
To this, Ms Maitseboa advised women not to allow financial problems to get them into trouble.
She advised that women should reduce debt burden so that they would not be pressed to make sexual transactions for money and thereby risk contracting HIV.
Ms Maitseboa cautioned that some people who were dogged by financial doldrums ended up committing suicide.
She also warned employees of DBES against festive season induced debt by pleasing family members and other quarters.
Consequently, she encouraged those in financial troubles to discuss their situations with their dependents to avoid sinking deeper in debt.
Ms Maitseboa warned treasurers of Metshelo schemes against keeping their finances in government cash boxes and or saves saying such money, if found will be treated as surplus for government.
For his part Serowe Administrative Authority chairperson Mr Mpho Kooreme encouraged DBES employees to do regular health checkups and tests.
He observed that many people visit medical facilities when sick or ill and thereby limiting chances of medical practitioners to diagnose and act swiftly. Mr Kooreme warned that waiting until it was too late would force the sick, in desperate times, to fall for desperate measures.
He warned that financial stress was dangerous to employees and could lead them to theft to make ends meet. ENDS
