Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) has embarked on an operation to sensitise its customers about its services around Kweneng District,.
Speaking in an interview during a mini customer day at Molepolole main Kgotla on November 10, the customer care and service coordinator, Molepolole Management Centre, Mr Kgotla Rapitsenyane said the corporation has received numerous complaints concerning water bills and their services in general.
Mr Rapitsenyane said their intention was to teach customers how to read meters and how to conserve water as well as share with them general information about bills.
He indicated that the team was targeting places that already have water while they are still looking for ways to supply places that lack water services.
Mr Rapitsenyane said their main message was water conservation.
"We do not have enough water in our country and the only solution is to save the little that we have,” he pleaded.
He strongly criticised the use of hose pipes in washing vehicles, insisting that people should use buckets.
He also said WUC encourage car wash businesses not to use potable water, adding that there was non-potable water, which is suitable for car wash businesses as well as for watering plants.
He said the corporation had introduced an application which customers can use to satisfy their concerns.
He said the application can be accessed through any phone and any network service provider.
“With this application, customers can pay bills, request for a bill, report a leakage, report sewer leakage, submit meter reading,”he stressed. BOPA
