Kgosi encourages youth to utilise competitions

Kgosi Moriti Gabokgatlhe of Kgagodi has encouraged youth of Mmadinare constituency to take part in arts and culture competitions.
Speaking at Kgagodi kgotla, where the Mmadinare constituency Arts and Culture final competitions were held, Kgosi Gabokgatlhe said that constituency arts competitions encourage good behaviour.
He said the competitions would help the youth to achieve goals they have set for themselves to bring about positive change within their respective communities and contribute to the development of the country.
For her part, programmes officer in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development under Mmadinare constituency, Tumelo Gaokwalelwe said her ministry’s role was to ensure that the competitions run properly.
She further said all competitors should accept the judges’ decisions.
She further said the registration for the next competitions was on-going because the competition is held twice a year.
Gaokwalelwe said these competitions have helped promote culture and good behaviour among the youth as well as helped unearth talent.
Meanwhile,Kenewang Ramazwere a guitarist from Kgagodi scooped the first position. Mmadinare Cultural group got position one in traditional dance whilst Masaasele Theatre Group came first in the drama category.
Edwin Dikelelelo scooped position one in poetry category while on the other hand Mmadinare Shining Stars were declared the best choir under traditional choir category. BOPA
