Presidents Concert November 25

Supported by Mascom Wireless in association with Botswana Television, the annual President’s Concert aimed at raising funds for a noble cause is set to take place at Maitisong on November 25.
The President’s Concert was started in the 90s by the second President, Sir Ketumile Masire and former director of Maitisong David Slater.
In an interview, director of Maitisong Gao Lemmenyane said Sir Ketumile Masire endorsed the initiative by making a commitment to attend the annual event as it supports governmental care to vulnerable community members.
“To date, Mascom has extended financial support of more than P2million to the event’s success,” he said, adding that previous beneficiaries include Stepping Stones International, Sekolo Sa Anne Stine, Lady Olebile Masire Foundation, Diphalana Counselling Centre and Masisi Organ Foundation among others.
He indicated that tickets are available at Maitisong, Webtickets and retailers for P200 which includes refreshments.
According to a press statement, some of the acts include Moratiwa: An African Tragedy Musical Ensemble that is made up of 100 Limkokwing graduates who were enrolled in the Ministry of Educations Performing Arts 100 and Target 20k projects.
The release goes on to say that art lovers can also look forward to a mind boggling performance by none other than Lizibo, an award winning afro-pop soul and opera performer who founded the Royal Tenors.
“Another production to look forward to is Urban Empire, a theatre and dance troupe which aims to inspire the youth to embrace the arts.
The group has performed in Botswana, Zambia and South Africa and most recently showcased its versatility in a production titled Evolution of Dance,” reads the statement.BOPA
