13 Nov 2016
Voters have been encouraged to keep voting for their favourite artistes for the Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAs) slated for December 10.
Speaking in an interview, Yarona FM station manager, Kelly Ramputswa said the voting line would remain open until November 14 (today).
“I would like to encourage voters to continue sending in their votes in support of their favourite artistes,” said Ramputswa.
She indicated that Yarona FM created the annual music award ceremony as a way of contribution towards the development and celebration of local artistes.
“The awards have grown in leaps and bounds and its success over the years has come with support of key stakeholders that include Copyright Society of Botswana, Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Culture Development,” she said.
Ramputswa added that she is delighted that the awards are back for another year and looks forward to a momentous evening which would showcase amazing talent and celebrate the quality of music that has evolved over the years.
“It is pleasing to see the growth and progression in all local acts in our music industry; they need to be reminded that this does not go unnoticed. I think this has been reflected in the choice of nominees this year,” she concluded. ENDS
