09 Nov 2016
Kediretswe Primary School class of 1996 has donated tables and benches to their former school.
Handing over the chairs at Kediretswe Primary School recently, the group representative, Ms Kelebogile Malomo said the school needed tables and chairs that students could use outside the classroom.
She said the furniture would come handy for classes that were conducted outside the classroom and during break time when students have their meals.
Class of 1996 is a group of more than 30 former students of Kediretswe Primary School who organised a re-union and formed a group with the aim to give back to their former school.
Receiving the chairs, the school head, Mr Samuel Malete said he was grateful and proud that his school was moving along with the times.
He thanked class of 1996 for the donation, adding that it would go a long way to help the school improve academic performance.
He said the donation came at the right time when students needed sitting areas during lunch and examination breaks.
In addition, principal education officer (inspectorate), Mr Mosiiwa Kwenaekgakala commended class of 1996 for their charitable gesture.
He said government alone could not afford to bring developments to school, hence thanked the group for the noble gesture.
Mr Kwenaekgakala also urged the school to take care of the furniture.
He also urged other former students of Kediretswe Primary School to contribute positively to develop their former school.
On the other hand, the Parent Teacher Association representative, Ms Julia Moalosi said the school has challenges that could be addressed through partnership with other stakeholders.
She said the school’s assembly area needed to be paved whilst some classrooms needed to be renovated.
She urged parents and other stakeholders to work together for the success of the school. ENDS
