03 Nov 2016

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Councillor for Tsabong North Mr Mmuso Kgannyeng is late.

The deceased had been a BDP councillor for Tsabong North since 2014 and was at the time of his untimely death the deputy Chairman of Tsabong sub district Council.

Speaking to BOPA during an interview, the family spokesperson Mr Kgosiemang Lebang said they are still shocked by the death of Mr Kgannyeng, saying they are still surprised because he has never complained of any ailments save for the high temperatures he was complaining of two days before his demise.

Mr Lebang pointed out that even the hospital personnel pointed out that his medical records did not reflect any serious disease that could kill a person in such a short period of time.

“They just told us that the records show that two days before he died he came in the hospital but he was released same day and was to come back after two days for check-up, where upon arrival he passed on despite our efforts to resuscitate him,” he said.
Mr Lebang revealed that as a family they do not suspect any foul play but are deeply touched by the untimely death of their son.

For his part the district council chairperson for Kgalagadi South Mr Justice Nkwane who is also a BDP stalwart said they have lost a great and dedicated leader who was always willing to go an extra mile when executing his duties.

He pointed out that it is saddening because just two days before he passed on he was assigned some duties and he never showed any signs of not being unwell.

“Kgannyeng always raised serious issues during council debates and was open to criticism from his colleagues,” he said, adding that he showed great leadership skills because he was always on time and never missed meetings.

The council chairperson  said his hard work and determination, saw BDP  wrestle the Tsabong north ward from the opposition which it held from 2009 to 2014 ENDS
