Artiste appreciates competition

 Upon being entrusted with the highest position in the land in April 2008, President Lt.Gen Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama saw to it that arts and culture is promoted.


The much celebrated President’s day competitions has thus provided the much needed platform for the sector to thrive and in the process transform many lives.


Mahalapye bred, Tebogo ‘Kunta’ Moloise, 31 a renowned poet is among the beneficiaries of this initiative.


Kunta is a gifted lyricist, rhyme connoisseur, flow extraordinaire, story teller and commentator. His lyrical prowess paints the listener a moving picture. Clarity is his master communication and he writes songs and poems and his delivery is top-notch.


“I have grown substantially as a poet and gained confidence in the trade thanks to annual President’s day music competitions. This is inspite of the fact that I am yet to reach the finals,” he said.


Moloise also gives credit to Radio Botswana Dipina le Maboko which he says has not only motivated him but has helped horn his poetic prowess.


“Poetry is the essence of life, it has the power to control souls and I use it to foster positivity in people’s minds,” he said.


A co-founder and member of Hip Hop outfit Music for Business & Change (MBC), Moloise is working on his debut solo music project. ENDS
