Five graduate from Stefanutti Stocks

The Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi, has awarded certificates to five graduates of Stefanutti Stocks training programme.
The graduates completed short courses in motor grading and excavation offered by their employer Stefanutti Stocks, a multi-disciplinary construction group.
Stefanutti Stocks had been operating in Botswana since 1989 specialising in mechanical and electrical engineering, roads, pipelines and mining services.
Speaking at the official launch of the training programme on Tuesday, Stefanutti Stocks training manager, Mr Johan Blignaut stated that the company was growing having introduced in-house training for their employees.
He highlighted that the objective of the training was to ensure that they improved quality of operators.
He said in some instances, they had come across situations where they had given machines to operators who didn’t know how to operate them.
Mr Blignaut stated that their curriculum was set out to be compliant to health, safety and environment.
He indicated that they had invested in their employees because they knew that the employees would in turn give back by working for them.
He said the training help build employees’ confidence so that they did not fear the heavy plant and machines.
He highlighted that the company wanted to make a difference and expand their programmes through the help of BQA.
The only woman graduate, Ms Boitshoko Pelonomi said she was happy to have chosen a profession in construction.
She said women face unemployment because many felt that construction was meant for men only.
Ms Pelonomi said she was a qualified operator of heavy plant and earth moving machines which she said had opened opportunities for her.
She indicated that before joining the company she had studied at Roads Training Centre because she had passion for construction.
The graduate said she was now a qualified motor grader and excavator with Stefanutti Stocks. ENDS
