Welcoming the audience, the school head Mr Francis Semathane applauded class of 1988 and BOPEU.

He said this year's price giving marks the beginning of great things adding that students must not disappoint sponsors and other stakeholders citing that it could only be possible if they yielded fruits.

He also said the increasing number of low performing students enrolled for senior education is a challenge as a number of them have minimal interest in academics and tend to rebel against teachers and disrupt the learning process of other students.

Semathane also said parents should tighten their grip with the school to help reprimand such students and said their support with other stakeholders can help the situation.

Speaking on behalf of Class of 1988 Dr Gomotsegang Pule said they were compelled by the poor academic performance of the school and decided to act to help their school.

She said their goal is to ensure that the school goes back to where it used to be academically; the school that produces excellent students worthy of Ivy League institutions who make a mark in the society.

Dr Pule said they would go as far as engaging additional methods such as motivational talks adding that they would not grow weary as they are committed to ensure that the school eventually tops nationally.

For his part guest speaker, chief executive officer of Botswana Post who is also class of 1987, Mr Cornelius Ramatlhakwana pledged to mentor 2016\2017 overall BGCSE best performers.

Mr Ramatlhakwana emphasized that self-discipline is key and can give abounding happiness and said freedom which they speak of is a short term endeavor that would not take them anywhere.

He also said those students will also get attached with Botswana Post and receive financial help respectively.

He urged students to refrain from self-imposed barriers, adding that everything one masters comes from determination and said students must put extra effort on their studies. ENDS
