Lentsweletau proud of achievements

Molepolole Administrative Authority/Lentsweletau Sub-district (MAA/Lentsweletau) should continue its pivotal role of ensuring access to basic social amenities to the district communities, sub-district chairperson, Mr Motoroko has said.

Speaking at opening of the sub-district council meeting on Monday, Mr Motoroko said the sub-district had achieved a lot in availing amenities to the people and in implementing government programmes and projects.

“We need to count and rejoice over achievements, our success stories, implementation of ESP development projects, bus rank and other national programmes to name but a few in the district,” he said.

He commended employees in the MAA/Lentsweletau sub-council and encouraged them to work as a team, and likewise carry-on with the momentum that helped the sub-district to successfully celebrate the country’s 50 years independence.

“As we approach the end of a year it is always critical to look back, reflecting on achievements, and to look forward, to see what we still need to accomplish.

In a sub-district as big as MAA/Lentsweletau, with over 1 000 staff working on a wide range of activities in many departments of the government and non-governmental organisations, it is difficult to see the entirety of our work, nevertheless, what we are able to do as a team and in support of our stakeholders is quite remarkable,” he said.

On other issues he acknowledged the work done by both parents and teachers in participating in education of children and that all must remain hopeful that the children who recently wrote exams will do best in their examinations, citing 3 546 pupils wrote Primary School Leaving Examinations, 3 297 junior who wrote Cambridge examinations respectively.

“We acknowledge an excellent work performed by both teachers and parents on learning and general education development of our children. These people play an active role in development of students both academically and outside the classroom, thus providing a holistic learning environment,” he said. ENDS
