Students receive pat on back

Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development Mr Nonofo Molefhi has encouraged Ikhutseng Primary School students to always strive for academic excellence.
Speaking during academic excellence awards ceremony on Friday, Mr Molefhi appreciated the hard work provided by Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) who are much committed to meet their set targets.
Mr Mofefhi said this is an opportunity given for the school to get prepared for future life adding that today’s education requires teachers to research beyond and explore new knowledge that are around the world.
He explained that other countries depend on education for production noting that all professionals are the products of a teacher therefore teachers need to be acknowledged and respected.
Mr Molefhi said children are clay in the potter's hands and they need to be moulded in a good direction. However he urged parents to keep up the good work in taking responsibility in their children’s growth.
Meanwhile, the school head, Mr Christopher Ditirwa said despite the challenges they faced they did well. at did not discourage them from doing their work.
He said the school marked the 21st anniversary with the theme ,Striving to attain Excellent Performance, Providing a Conducive Learning Environment for the past 21 years and beyond.
The school has enrolled a total of 846 students, 25 teachers and eight non-teaching staff . ENDS
