Plans are underway to restore Mosu water supply.
Member of Parliament for Boteti East, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe said during a kgotla meeting in Mosu on October 14, that the borehole that was initially intended to supply Mosu with potable water required P4 million treatment plant.
As such, he said government plans to make a special arrangement for Mosu alone.
On other issues, Mr Lelatisitswe said construction of Mosu access road was still in the pipeline. The legislator was responding to concerns from residents.
The village development committee chairperson, Mr Gaopalelwe Basimane had earlier on expressed a concern regarding shortage of water, saying that affected schools and the health facility.
Mr Basimane also complained about overstaying of teachers both at the village’s primary and junior school.
He further said there was shortage of accommodation for teachers, nurses and non-teaching staff at the schools.
He decried that learners were taught in outdoor areas at Makgadikgadi Junior School, a situation which negatively affected the students’ perfromance.
Furthermore, he requested that more nurses should be deployed to the village.
In addition, he requested that fencing should also be included in the ongoing renovation at Mosu Primary School.
For his part, Councillor Sealammu Tsapo of Mosu complained that the community had long been promised that Mosu would be turned into a service centre for Mmatshumo, Mmea and Mokubilo. ENDS
