Police nab suspect in arson incident

Tshane police are investigating a case in which a male and his female companion aged between 24 and 30 years escaped death by a whisker after a tent they were sleeping in burnt to ashes.  
According to Tshane police station commander, Superintendent Vusimusi Jorowe the incident happened on October 13 at Ga-Khibana ward in Hukuntsi.
Even though police investigations are still at a premature state, Superintendent Jorowe indicated that they have apprehended a man aged between 26 and 30 years of Hukuntsi who is suspected to be the one who set alight the tent the couple was sleeping in.
He said the male victim was when runningaway from the inferno, also attacked and stabbed by the suspect with a sharp instrument.
He said the couple was rushed to the Hukuntsi Primary Hospital where the male victim was treated and released on the same day while his female companion is still under intensive care unit.
Superintendent Jorowe stated that police investigation has also revealed that the suspect at some point had a love affair with the lady victim that had gone sour .
He further pleaded with lovers to consult with the police, social workers or elderly family members to resolve their differences rather than taking the law in to their own hands.
