Many people could have forgotten ‘By Two’ duo whose House Kwasa songs used to rock the country, but this is no big deal as one of the group members is back into the music industry.
The industrious Asenath Lokwalo Thobega, who recently made a comeback to the music scene, is coming with a purpose to heal broken hearts through singing soulful gospel.
The lady, who plies her trade as a guidance and counselling teacher at Letsopa JSS in Lobatse, says she considers herself to be mature, hence the change from house to gospel music.
Thobega, whose last album with her teacher colleague was entitled Time to Rock, says her music is meant to bring people closer to the Lord.
“My music is designed to touch the inner part of a man before touching his outside for the good of his life, and I belief this is working as the album is receiving positive response,” she said with a gingerly giggle.
Going by the name Alpha and Omega, the easy going Thobega says her new and first ever gospel album entitled My Soul Say Yes, which is also title number two, was recorded last year but released last month.
Asked her favourite song in her 10-track-album, Thobega said she does not know which one is her favourite just like many other people who have bought the album.
She however gives credit to her colleagues who were also part of this project and they are Pastor Joseph Cheherenge and Kudzi Kumakili who was in the instruments.The God fearing Thobega, who attends Ruponeso Apostolic Faith Church in Gabane, proudly says the album was also mixed and mastered by Kudzi, and recorded at KK Music Production in Gabane.
Some of the songs in the album include Morena o etla, I won’t die before my time, Amen, Where are you, Ndiregerereiwa baba, Ndinosimudza maoko and Thank you Lord among others.
Frankly speaking this album can be enjoyed by both the young and the old as it has all the needed music beats.
Take a long winding adventurous journey and play it, you will never be disappointed, especially that Thobega’s melodious and captivating voice will beckon you.ENDS
