No additional posts of court bailiffs in tutume region - Tshireletso
12 Oct 2016
Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso says there are only two court bailiff’s positions in Tutume Sub- district.
Speaking during the ongoing Ntlo Ya Dikgosi session, MS Tshireletso said one officer is overseeing Nata/Gweta while the other is overseeing Tutume and other areas and that her ministry is aware of the arrangement.
She also said the ministry is unable to create additional positions due to zero manpower growth and the sub-stations will therefore continue to be serviced by assistant court bailiffs under the supervision of the two Court Bailiffs.
Ms Tshireletso was responding to a question asked by Kgosi Rapelang Khuwe of Tutume region on when her ministry will consider creating posts for court baillifs in sub-stations as these substations are currently serviced by assistant court bailiffs. Meanwhile, Ms Tshireletso said her ministry has no plans of installing streetlights along Meno road in Maun.
She said the North West district council is facing budgetary challenges.
“Although Meno Road is approximately 1km, the installation of streetlights cannot be undertaken utilising the current budget as the funds have been prioritised for maintaining existing infrastructure,” she said. She was responding to a question asked by Kgosi Oleyo Ledimo of Maun region on when streetlights will be installed along Meno Road in Maun. ENDS
