Train accident injures three
11 Oct 2016
Three people sustained minor injuries when a Botswana Railways passenger train collided with a stationery goods wagon last night.
The three, who included a pregnant woman, were treated and discharged at a hospital, according to Botswana Railways public relations officer, Mr Kebabonye Morewagae.
He said the stationery wagon had detached from a goods train travelling north while the passenger train was carrying 143 passengers from Gaborone to Francistown.
Mr Morewagae said the railway was damaged, therefore all their services would be temporarily unavailable until tomorrow (October 12).
He said investigations were still ongoing, but they managed to organise buses for passengers to reach their destinations.
