Rotary club donates two wheelchairs
10 Oct 2016
Francistown Rotary Club has donated two wheelchairs to the department of Occupational Therapy in Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital.
Receiving the donation, the hospital’s acting superintendent, Dr Boago Didimalang appreciated the efforts of the club noting that ‘blessed is the hand that gives.’
Dr Didimalang said hospitals had shortage of equipment such as wheel chairs, and government alone could not be able to meet the demand without the help of institutions such as the Rotary Club.
He said they welcomed donations like these with open arms because a lot of people needed wheelchairs. He stated that the hospital was very limited in providing their patients with wheelchairs because the demand
exceeded supply.
Dr Didimalang further commended the club for the work they were doing worldwide.
Handing over the wheelchairs, the president of the Rotary Club Ms Saadia Rossakhan said they had worked with different stakeholders to be able to donate the wheelchairs. She further said it gave them pleasure to be able to make a difference in people’s lives.
For her part, the hospital manager Ms Maureen Maretela acknowledged the efforts of the club and urged them to donate more to the hospital. ENDS
