President’s Housing Appeal member Colonel Duke Masilo has commended Be Free Christian Church for heeding President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama’ s call to house the needy.
He explained during the handing over of a house to Mampoka Magosola in Ramotswa recently that the appeal has helped better many lives across the country,.
He added that the President came up with the initiative in 2010, and the first house to be built was in 2011 and 644 houses have been completed so far.
In addition, he thanked churches for playing a big role in the society.
“Looking back at the history of churches in the world, they have built schools, hospitals and they still continue to do so and they pray for the sick. Church is about reassuring spirit of love by implementing it,” he narrated.
Furthermore South East District Council chairperson Mr Phenyo Segokgo said it is good to have churches that make a difference in the society.
He appreciated Be Free Christian Church`s Prophet Keletso Moenda for the sacrifice he and his church made by constructing a house for Mr Magasola.
Mr Segoko emphasised that it is important for people to extend a helping hand to the needy to help make a difference in society.
Be Free Christian Church`s Prophet Moenda stressed that people should exercise the spirit of love and giving.
He said he is delighted that God used him to turn around the life of Mr Magosola who is his longtime friend.
“I have known Mr Magosola for a long time.
He has been a father and a friend to me.
Though we do not attend the same church, it did not limit me and my church to be a saving grace in his life,” he said.
Prophet Moenda explained that his church has spent P145 000 in construction of Mr Magosola’s house and they are still continuing to assist him.
Meanwhile Mr Magosola thanked the church for changing his life for the better. ENDS
