VP delivers promise

Just as he said he would, the Vice President Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi has donated 24 herds of cattle instead of the initial 22, that were slaughtered for Independence Day celebrations by residents of the Moshupa- Manyana constituency.
Mr Masisi explained on that he added two more cows to cater for public officers in his area and residents of Ralekgetho village, thereby extending the total number to 24 cattle. Mr Masisi also Member of Parliament (MP) for Moshupa-Manyana constituency shared that 10 cattle out of the total number were donated by his councillors.
“Smaller villages each got a cow, bigger ones two and the biggest four respectively. With that I want to thank you once again even those who didn’t vote for me in the last elections because I represent all of you now. I’m particularly proud to have become the Vice President through your vote on our 50th Independence anniversary. My wife and I give you these cattle with all our hearts,” he said.
He also handed over sweets donated by China Jiangsu International as he had promised, that were distributed to children across the constituency.
During his welcome remarks earlier, Kgosi Kwelagobe Mookodi said Moshupa-Manyana residents were blessed to have a kind, loving, father- figure like Mr Masisi as their representative.
Meanwhile the Southern District Council chairman Mr Mephato Reatile has encouraged Batswana to jealously safeguard the values and principles which have brought the nation thus far.Mr Reatile said it was pivotal to transmit the same virtues to young generations.ENDS
