BOT50 account executive for sport and cultural entertainment, Orie Molale has implored business people, especially the youth, to make use of independence festivities to market their products and better their lives.

Speaking in an interview during a BOT50 music festival in Kanye on Friday, he said independence celebrations were a social event that created a platform for networking.

Molale, who is also a programmes officer at the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development said such celebrations were in line with his ministry’s mandate of empowering the youth.

He said the event was an opportunity for the youth, multi-media companies, artists and small entrepreneurs to market themselves, adding that it also aimed at fostering a rapport between artists and the leadership as decision makers.

He said the event created a platform for Kanye and her extension areas to realise the importance of arts and appreciate their beauty.

He said such festivities united the community and attracted tourists to the beautiful landscape of Kanye that would in turn inject money into the economy that would change the economic landscape of residents.

He said the event cultivated the spirit of togetherness, unity, victory, and discipline and also built endurance emphasising that these were key elements of success.

He called on Batswana to exercise resilience in moving Botswana forward, noting they should treat challenges as a learning curve.
Molale said the festivities were a tool to revive and preserve culture, noting for people to know their direction they have to know where they are coming from.

Meanwhile in Kanye and extension areas celebration mood was so high that almost all merry makers made an effort to look the part and be clad in Botswana blue, which colour dominated Bot50 merchandise during celebrations. Ends
