Without any music qualification, making people dance to his songs late at night is not problematic for Omphile Moela, popularly known as Dj Elvivo.

Dj Elvivo is perhaps the most sought after Dj at high profile events in Botswana and, speaking in an interview, the 27-year-old Bobonong born regarded himself as a super Dj. He spins innovative sounds, entertains music lovers and heralds a new wave in house remixes.

He said his love for disk jockey started in 2011 inspired by Dj La Timmy.

 “We used to prepare for birthday parties and that time we only knew DVD players were the best in mixing, but the experience led me to Deejaying becoming my passion,” he continued.

He said in 2013 he bought compact disk players and other equipment to start a deejaying career. Now as a resident Disk Jockey in Bobonong, Dj Elvivo is popular for tunes that force feet to move and stomp the floor. “My fans get too upset whenever I do not show up on Fridays and Saturday for set throwing,” he added.

He also revealed that he did performances at parties, weddings and baby showers.
Apart from Deejaying Elvivo is also a house music producer.

In 2014 he released a six tracked album called Hamba which consists of hits like Hamba Elvivo, Mapompane, Doctor Tawanda, Kevin, Ngwaga yoo.He said he had managed to upgrade his career through funds from Youth Development Fund Programme, adding that he appreciated the love and support of his fans.

He noted that in future he would like to see his songs being played outside Botswana.

Dj Elvivo said piracy was a big challenge faced by artistes in Botswana but he was happy with the work done by Copyright society of Botswana in protecting artistes work. ENDS
