Foundation reaches out to less fortunate in community

The Mother Pontsho Foundation is a foundation formed to help those who are in need from children to adults and it also goes further to extend its hand in offering scholarships to students in need.

The foundation is currently taking care of at least 150 children in Mmopane village and it has a feeding programme where once in a month they feed the elderly with food during their pay day and its major project is that of sponsoring two medical students in Russia.

In an Interview on Tuesday, the public relations officer of the Foundation Ms Gorata Kenneth said the foundation is doing well and raising funds to help sponsor the students, adding that on September 23, they will host Dr Tumi from South Africa in order to raise more money to help the students.

Ms Kenneth noted that the show will take place at Rainbow High School starting at 7pm 1 where they have invited the best-selling artiste from South Africa, Dr Tumi who ministers through songs and also a worshipper and a man of God who has a heart of giving back to the less privileged .

She said the main purpose of the event is to raise funds towards Mother Pontsho Foundation adding that the objective is to be able to raise enough money to donate to the foundation as it is sponsoring two medical students in Russia.

She noted that Dr Tumi will perform alongside Local Gospel choir called We Must Praise, adding that currently tickets for the event are available at computickets and at the foundation and they are also delivered to anyone around Gaborone.

Ms Kenneth said the Foundation is determined to go an extra mile in helping those who are in need hence those who are able to support and help are highly welcome, adding that blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives.

She urged Batswana to have the spirit of giving back and helping those who need help in different ways as God will reward and bless them abundantly.

She noted that giving back shows love and compassion and it gives hope to those who receive such help and further said Mother Pontsho Foundation has always been there to assist the needy and it shall continue showing love to the children and elderly.

Mother Pontsho Foundation was established in 2003 and officially registered with Registry of societies (Botswana) in April 2014 and the foundation is two years five months old.

Ms Kenneth said the vision of the foundation is to restore and sustain the dignity of a human beings and the foundation accomplish everything they have through donations. ENDS
