Maun Lodge and the Chinese business community have been applauded for their gesture of donating towards the Independence Day celebrations in Maun.

Maun Lodge has donated P20 000 while the Chinese business community donated LCD Television, DVD Player and Home Theatre.

Brigadier Motsumi who is also the chairperson of the BOT50 preparation committee said on Friday that the donations were an answer to the committee’s request for assistance towards celebrations of Independence Day in Maun.

He said the gifts will be awarded to Miss Botswana 50 in the district while the funds will help make the day a success.

He described the donor, Mr John Wellio of Maun Lodge as a father and a long-term partner to the community adding that he always assisted in activities done in Maun. “There is grace for those who give,” he said.

For his part Kgosi Charles Letsholathebe appreciated the gesture from the two donors.

He said it was worth noting that some business people selflessly contributed to their community. ENDS
