In an effort to share Botswana’s story by Batswana, Tsena, a Botswana community portal, is set to stimulate community interest by providing innovative measures for sustainable growth for individuals, businesses, corporates and communities across Botswana.
Tsena is an online gateway that showcases the very best of Botswana locally and internationally . A brain child of Mascom Wireless Botswana, Tsena is an online community portal that shares news, events and information about Botswana by people in Botswana. Tsena boasts of authentic content attained from reputable Botswana organisations and individuals.
Speaking at the launch, renowned Poland based Motswana celebrity chef, Mr Joseph Seeletso said Botswana has been a hub of excitement and activity over the past couple of months in preparation for the nation’s golden jubilee celebrations, and it is moments like these that should be captured and shared on Tsena for the rest of the world to witness.
“I am very excited to be a part of what I deem growth for our nation, and I am humbled to not only witness but to be a part of the Tsena launch. I am indeed enthusiastic about the prospects Tsena provides and wishes to accomplish,” he said.
He said the portal would not only make information on Botswana more accessible to the international community, but would also cultivate a culture of competitiveness locally, in turn ensuring an increase in efficiently managed and delivered services and products of reputable standards.
In her remarks, Ms Bame Moremong, Brand Botswana executive director, noted that Tsena has come at a time when corporates and every individual need to actively be a part of efforts to put Botswana on the world map.
Guest speakers at the event, predicted that as a proudly Botswana product, Tsena, would grow, and it was important for Batswana to come along on this journey of growth. Mr Thato Moruti, Tsena project manager said content contributors who have registered and have had credentials provided to them could submit content to Tsena.
“Just to mention a few examples, individuals who want to sell their car or house, share their blogs , images, videos and any other content they may already be creating can submit,” he said, adding that one can register on the portal, directly under the ‘Get Involved’ page.
He indicated that there is no fee for content submission. “Content providers are not remunerated for sharing their content because Tsena provides a platform for content contributors to share their content on a platform that reaches 600,000 people at no data cost.
Content contributors who advertise their products and services are not charged any advertising fees,” he said. ENDS
