Networking important for officers- Raletobane
25 Sep 2016
The district commissioner for Southern District, Mr Mmoloki Raletobane has encouraged departments under the Office of the President (OP) in his area to come together and have light moments on a regular basis.
Mr Raletobane said this during a come-together session organised by his office in Kanye on Friday September 23. He said events of the sort give officers a rare opportunity to touch base, network, share ideas and experiences.
He stressed that it was important for the departments to be seen to work together within the district since they are the face of the highest office in the land.
He said networking would go a long way to create an enabling environment for officers to share resources which he argued would reduce unnecessary costs in the process.
Mr Raletobane thanked officers who came up with the initiative for the insight and pledged a goat for the next session.
The district performance improvement coordinator, Mr Balume Bulayani in his welcome remarks said the session was intended for team building purposes. Likewise, he reiterated that it was critical for officers to create time to socialise and get to know each other across the ministry.
Another speaker at the event, Ms Mmapule Gobotswang explained that Psalms 133 in the Bible gave rise to the initiative. She explained that the Scripture encouraged officers to have a unity of purpose.
Ms Gobotswang also shared that they served traditional cuisine with a view to usher the nation’s Golden Jubilee celebrations in style. He however warned all Batswana especially the youth to enjoy themselves responsibly during the celebrations. ENDS
