Botswana Police recently arrested two South African citizens at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in connection with alleged possession of habit forming drugs in two separate incidents.
According to a press release from the Police Public Relations Office, the duo, a 27 year old woman and a 34 year old man who were arrested for alleged possession of different packages of the drugs appeared before the Village Magistrate Court on September 15.
The release states that the 27 year old woman who was allegedly found in possession of 15 kilogrammes of a controlled drug, Ephedrine has been charged with an offence of importation of drugs without prior approval.
The release also states that a 34 year old man allegedly found in possession of four kilogrammes of a substance believed to be cocaine also appeared before court facing charges of unlawful possession of habit forming drugs (cocaine).
The two are remanded in custody and will appear again in court on September 28. ENDS
