Sprint Couriers donates sanitary pads

15 Sep 2016

Sprint Couriers on Tuesday (September 13) donated sanitary pads to learners at Patikwane secondary school in Paje.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony, the company operations director, Ms Pinkie Setlalekgosi said they found it fit to donate to a girl child because they were the most vulnerable members of society.

Also, Ms Setlalekgosi underscored the fact that hygiene was important for a girl child, adding that, equally, their education was the mainstay of success.

As such, she challenged them to believe in themselves and focus on important things and make things easier for their teachers.

Ms Setlalekgosi regretted that students nowadays had no respect for the elders.

One of the students, Game Kotopo said developments could not be sustainable without equality; as such, the status and prospects of a girl child, normally regarded as a second class citizen, should be raised.

“The donation she said would pick up our confidence and we will have the power to conquer the world,” she said.

The school head, Mr Oboletse  Mbaakanyi said the gift would put a smile on their faces, saying that their school rarely  received  donations.

Mr Mbaakanyi said: “If it was in our powers, we would choose to be adopted by this company.”

He added that they wanted to have a cordial relationship with Sprint Couriers because they were a needy school that did not have a photocopying machine and furniture for both students and staff. ENDS
