Ralotsia benchmarks in Israel
14 Sep 2016
Minister of Agriculture, Mr Patrick Ralotsia and other government officials have left for Tel Aviv, Israel for a five day benchmarking mission.
A press release from the ministry says the objectives of the minister’s trip include benchmarking on technologies that will enhance agricultural productivity and production in Botswana.
It adds that observations are that Botswana and Israel have the same climatic conditions but in most cases Botswana receives higher annual rainfall than Israel.
Despite this, states the release, Israel meets its food demands and exports to other countries.
The release says, in addition, the delegation will benchmark with the Israel University of Agriculture for areas of collaboration with the Botswana University of Agriculture and Nature resources as well as appreciate use of desalinated or saline water for irrigation in horticultural production.
