Moshaga urges officers to invest

13 Sep 2016

The Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) accredited consultant has encouraged employees in the Ministry of Agriculture to invest for the future.

Addressing staff in the Southern District during a wellness day in Kanye recently, Mr Taolo Moshaga said he was worried that some officers, soon after retirement became destitute people.

He said it was imperative for employees to invest part of their income, while they still could, in order for them to live a comfortable life after service.

Mr Moshaga also encouraged employees to take advantage of the available opportunities and better the conditions of their lives. “Use the same ideas you dish out to your customers to improve the condition of your lives,” he advised.

Mr Moshaga further advised employees to surround themselves with positive people and save for big things in life rather than blowing their hard earned monthly income on partying and clubbing.

Most of all, he encouraged them to live within their means, “buy an affordable car until an expensive one buys itself,” he warned.

Mr Moshaga encouraged employees to strive to discharge top-notch service.

Like sports persons, he advised them to practise and perfect their skills until they become the best they could be in their day to day work.

He furthermore advised staff to test for sugar diabetes, Hypertension, cancer and HIV/Aids so they made the right decisions about their lives in time.

He argued that being HIV positive did not mean one was promiscuous.

Meanwhile the Southern District agricultural coordinator Ms Monia Mfolwe said good health was key factor for a productive workforce.

Mrs Mfolwe also explained they would organise the activity every year because wellness days were good for team building. ENDS
