Tutume DHMT rewards top performers
11 Sep 2016
Tutume District Health Management Team (DHMT) on Friday (September 8) at Gweta Primary Hospital rewarded high performers in the health service for Tutume west health facilities. These include Maposa, Sepako, Manxotae, Tsokatshaa and Dzoroga. Officiating at the awards ceremony, Sowa Town mayor Mr George Maphane said health facilities in Tutume West were faced with major challenges as these facilities were located in rural areas far from services. As such, services in these places were challenged as often there was shortage of staff resulting in overload of work for those charged to work there.
And giving quality service to the public could only be possible if those that were supposed to serve were eager to do their work above expectation as well as within the service standards.
He therefore noted that awarding exceptional performers in the field despite challenges on daily basis would motivate them to deliver to the expectation of their clients.
As a country, Mr Maphane highlighted that since independence the health care system had grown in leaps and bounds and continued to grow and this was possible as result of concerted efforts of each and every one in DHMT's across the country.
For his part, area Member of Parliament Mr Polson Majaga said rewarding exceptional performers including health facilities was going to motivate those being served.
Mr Majaga added that government through affirmative action policy, wanted to bring services closer to the people within short time so these people in RAD's areas could also get to enjoy services other Batswana enjoy elsewhere around the country.
The awards were held under the theme, Recognising and promoting exceptional performance in health care service delivery. ENDS
