Princess Marina re-opens emergency ward

Princess Marina Hospital recently re-opened Accident and Emergency (A&E) and the Gynae theatre.
A press release from the hospital states that the two were closed for maintenance of the ceiling and floor in November last year. They were refurbished at a cost of P695 000.
The statement notes that the re-opening of the two facilities will help improve services in the hospital.
It says the Gynae theatre will carry out more operations and relieve the main theatre to do more operations.
The press statement indicates that the two were supposed to take six weeks but this was not be as the hospital notices more areas that needed maintenance.
It states that the hospital had to request more funds from the Ministry of Health to fix those areas as well because they were not in the scope of work.
It further highlights that maintenance will now be carried out at minor theatre and other areas in the hospital.
It further says the hospital has just started another round of cardiac campaign with heart scans of 31 patients.
The release notes that among these patients, 11 will do angiogram and two will do pacemakers while one will get stent at the hospital.
The statement highlights that eight of these patients will do open heart surgeries at Scottish Livingstone Hospital.
It notes that the campaign will end on September 15 furthermore stating that the Ministry of Health has just signed a new Memorandum of Agreement with Mauritius medical team running from September 2016 until September 2021. ENDS
