The project also aimed at increasing knowledge and awareness about several issues relating to HIV and sexual health using information, education and communication (IEC) materials and a social media campaign.
The TV team, which is currently working on producing an episode dedicated to Botswana for Season 2 intended to film the NCONGO project this month.
In an interview, NCONGO executive director, Monametsi Sokwe confirmed that they were ready to work with Brazilian TV because HIV/AIDS was a global concern.
He said Botswana had immense experience fighting HIV/AIDS and they were more than happy to share best practices not only with Africa but with the rest of the world.
“At NCONGO, we strongly believe that our solutions lie with the people and instead of institutionalising the fight, we believe it is time the government and other development partners take communities aboard and allow communities to help fight the HIV/AIDS,” he added.
