BOT50 has officially launched September 1 as Botswana Golden Jubilee month.

“The month of September officially kicks-off the last leg of our golden jubilee celebrations. Our 50th anniversary of independence is upon us and there is no turning back. September 30 is inevitable, ”a press release from BOT50 coordination office says.

The release goes further to call on the nation to stand up in solidarity and celebrate “our achievements, peace, development and stability over the past 50 years.”

It further explains that the month of September has been declared “a blue and white month” adding that during the month, the nation is encouraged to wear national colours every day.

“Government has also taken a decision that from September 1 – 30, RB1 and RB2 will only be playing 100 per cent local music. We appeal to private radio stations to support this initiative,” the release says.

BOT50 calls on the nation  to pledge their positive energy into efforts to promote golden jubilee. ENDS
