Khama hands over SADC chairmanship badge

The outgoing SADC chairperson, President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama handed over the chairperson badge
to King Mswati III during the official opening of the 36 ordinary summit of heads of state and government in Swaziland on Tuesday August 30.
President Khama said drought had affected the performance of the region as about 40 million people experienced food insecurity. He said it was therefore critical that the region rose to the occasion to mitigate the drought with the support of SADC partners. ENDS
